About Concert Band

Concert band meets daily throughout the course of the school year. Our concert band typically schedules 2 concerts, one in December and the other in late April/early May. Concert performances are a part of the grade for each student enrolled in the class. Concert band repertoire is selected to expose our students to a wide variety of literature from past historical works to new compositions by today's leading composers. Students grades 9 - 12 are seated in the same ensemble. Most concert performances feature 4 - 5 works ranging in difficulty to challenge every member and section in the band. Concert band students may participate in local honor bands, solo and ensemble, festivals and competitions throughout the school year.

Concert band students will have scheduled sectionals during class time. Additionally, students may come in during 5A study hall, lunch or after school to receive additional instruction based on the availability of the instructors. Students will be required to make videos of themselves performing repertoire from class as a part of their quarterly grade.
